ABOUT THE UNIT
What we do
The Provincial Health Training Centre builds the knowledge and skills of health staff serving in the North Central Province.
It is led by the Medical Officer-in-charge, with two Special Grade Nursing Tutors and a Tutor Public Health Inspector.
Location
Provincial Department of Health Services, North Central Province, Anuradhapura
Main functions
- Identifying the education and training needs of NCP health staff
- Education, training and research to develop health staff, in line with national policy and provincial needs
- Obtaining multi-sector support for health manpower development
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes
- Promoting health research among health professionals
- Safety-assistant training with the NCP Provincial Council and the Foreign Employment Bureau
- Preparing the human resource development plan
