What we do
The Civil Engineering Unit prepares estimates for and supervises construction and repair work in provincial health institutions. It is headed by the Civil Engineer.

Main functions
- Preparing estimates for civil works
- Supervising civil works
- Preparing the annual civil engineering plan (maintenance and construction)

Highlights from 2025
- Completed in 2025 include emergency treatment units at Huruluwewa and Kahatagasdigiliya, the OPD roof at DH Negampaha and wards at DH Manampitiya
- Wards and corridors at eight divisional hospitals were completed with World Bank (PHSEP) funds
